This beautiful wall hanging was made by Home Start volunteers and Children's Centre staff - and will be displayed in the new centre, when it opens in January 2008.
Welcome to Butterflies Children's Centre. We are a Phase 2 Sure Start Children's Centre, based in the High Park area of Southport, we officially opened on 8th March 2008. We provide a wide range of services and support for families with children under 5, living in Southport, Merseyside.
We have a variety of regular groups such as Coffee Morning, Toy Library, Parent and Toddler groups, Baby Health Club, Prambles, weaning groups, ante natal and post natal groups, family support, smoking cessation support, and much more!
We also run a variety of different courses, such as baby massage, adult maths, parenting courses, art & craft, read & rhyme courses and many more.
We can provide one to one advice, and signpost you to help with problems such as debt management and benefits advice. We are here to provide a listening ear and support you and your family during difficult times.
Come along, meet the staff and have a look round for yourself. There will be lots for you and your family to do.
The centre is now open, from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, all year round (except between Christmas and New Year).

Wrap-around Childcare
This service is for children aged between 2 years and 11 years, from 7.50am to 5.45pm.
Butterflies Nursery provides high quality wrap-around childcare for children aged from 2-5 years, from 7.50 am to 5.45 pm, five days a week, in a our newly refurbished environment, which is accessed via the new Children’s
Centre.
While the youngest children are cared for in Butterflies Nursery, from 7.50am to 5.45pm the older children have fun in the Wide Awake Club from 7.50 am to 8.50am until school starts. Then the 3-2-6 club caters for the needs of children after school until 5.45pm.
We also run a Holiday Club for children aged from 3-11 years, while the little ones are in Butterflies Nursery.
Next door to the nursery is the new Children’s Centre, which is open from 8am to 6pm, and provides a wide and innovative range of family support and outreach work, child and family health services, links with schools and the Children’s Information service, and Job Centre plus. Whatever your needs, the centre can offer advice and support, or signpost you to the best services available.
